Sunrise

We woke up to this today:
And this was the back of the sunrise-just as beautiful as the flashy side.

Will you let us know what this red sky brought you, weatherwise, later in the day?

Tracy, how are the temperatures up North? It's been a very mild winter down here. On Saturday, it is suppose to be 60 degrees in New York City. Global Warming anyone?

Gorgeous Tracy!

James we could use come global warming in Denver. Want me to ship you some snow in exchange? I still have a couple feet of it on my driveway.

Deborah, Funny, I was thinking when i took these that I should see what will happen later on. So far though, it's very ordinary. Slightly overcast and heading for 50 degrees.

Shan, I think you might think these are images of my paintings and so I am flattered! I could never catch this view in a painting I'm afraid...

Jim, Very mild so far and hardly any snow. Very unusual for this area. It's a little creepy and kind of hard to enjoy the balmy weather.

Lisa, It is hard to reconcile your ton of snow and our lack of it with global warming. I don't know what is going on but there do seem to be a lot of extremes. I'll take some of your snow if you'd like to ship it. I am missing winter this year!

So that's what sunlight looks like.

Beauytiful picture!

Meno, yes, we are getting the sun here-all winter it seems..Usually it's all dark and dreary for months on end.

Hi Tracy!

Now i see where you get inspired...

Very nice that your paintings really reflect the landscape.

All the best for you this new year!

Daniela, The landscape here is a definite inspiration. In fact I was never interested in painting landscapes until we moved here.

No weather today, Deborah, just sunny and a few clouds here and there.

Lovely light on the 'back side'.

Good on you for looking both ways. It's one of the things I try to convey when I teach workshops, and it's very hard to get people who are mesmerized by something to turn around and see what is happening in the other direction.

Thanks Paul. I actually liked the light on the back side more than the flashy sunrise. The back light (the photo does not do it justice of course) was a beautiful soft, but strong pink/purple. That's the view that grabbed me!
