Flattery!

And much better than a good batch of paintings on display is this. And then this. Go see. Since I don't teach I am exceedingly glad to at least be represented in a classroom.

Um. Is there a reason both links point to the same place?

Yes, Paul and the reason involves computer illiteracy on my part:) I was hurrying to get the post up and didn't quite copy and paste the second link properly. I fixed it and thanks for pointing it out. I usually forget to even check the links, so it is very helpful when someone lets me know....

Tracy,
Doesn't it feel totally different the way your art affects children and their view or you? They are so freakin' honest and will so openly worship a REAL artist.

I've been part of the guest artist program at our local junior high for 3 years. Every artist that participates comes away inspired and blown away at the same time. Also, the kids learn that (even in a community of 16,000) artists are real people working in their home town and not an oddity.

Cool huh?

Those kids' work inspired by you are so inspiring. Thanks for sharing them with us.

This is seriously cool. You know I'm into kids' artwork, and this is beautiful!

Your work clearly made an impression on them! What a compliment!

Doing art with kids is just so rewarding. When my daughter was in grade 3 I did a sewing project with her class and it was so much fun. Some of their questions just cracked me up. Ah, the innocence of childhood.

Thanks, Natalya, Gary, this has been very flattering, it's true.

Jayne, Sometimes I hear my kids friends whisper when I walk by. At first I am worried that they are laughing about how ridiculous I am but then I usually find out they think it's way cool that I am an artist. But we are all shy and none of us communicate to the other!

I love that kids are so affected and yet casual about making art. Just another thing they can do.

Brooke, really you are into kid's art?! WoW:) Hey everyone, Brooke was the best art teacher (and friend, and artist AND mother of 4 boys) at my kid's school in Utah.

Thanks Takeyce, I know, very sweet. And I totally love the pastels they did. I have some competition, I think:)

Hi Melody, I admit to actively avoiding doing projects with my kid's classes, I am hopelessly uncomfortable in front of groups of people, especially kids. but I have done plenty of projects with our kids and it's been some of the best times we have had.
