A Real Nothing of a Post!

Well, I have very little to report on here, which accounts for the lack of posts lately. And also for the photo of a very unusual egg from our one of our hens on Easter, rather than a new painting. I haven't really done any painting (or much of anything actually) in the last few days. Partly because I am feeling somewhat overwhelmed about it and also because the kids are home this week for spring break and every time I get close to starting on something I get interrupted somehow. And to really prove that I am in some sort of funk, I actually turned down a chance to stay in NYC overnight. Doug and I were going to take the girls and go down for two days. Instead, I insisted they go without me. I just couldn't muster the interest or energy to go. Bleh!!

And then because of that I had a few days to myself and did I even take advantage of that? Noooooooo. Sat around mostly and accomplished next to nothing!

I think I will take the weekend off from the studio entirely and try to get the gardens cleaned up. That always makes me feel better and and also gives me something different to stress about, like which way to rotate the vegetable plantings or whether not it's a fracture or just a pulled muscle. Heh. So I will consider next week to be a clean slate.

PS. Doug was kind enough to bring back a very special chocolate bar from a shop in Soho. Am not really eating chocolate lately but I had to try this one. Applewood smoked bacon, alderwood smoked salt, in deep milk chocolate. I had one little square and can only describe it as incredible, yet completely disgusting. Very intriguing!

uhh... I don't know what to comment on first...

How about that chicken egg? Maybe things got a little backed up in the laying area?

Now the chocolate bar.... I guess only guys would think of buying a chocolate bar with bacon and alder smoked salt...we're more used to trying foo foo stuff like lavender or maybe little pepper.. .. BACON???

I'm glad to see curious foodies though...

Just a fabulous description of that chocolate bar.

I'd think this lapse in energy is normal post show. You'd been working so hard.

Keep us posted as you progress though it, please!

I thought it was a tailor's ham and wondered if you were going 3D.

We are having a resurgence of backyard chicken farming here in GA in spite of local ordinances. I am tempted since I could blame the noise on the feral ones living in the woods.

Sheila, we get all kinds of goofy eggs, this one is a bit soft on one side though, so i suspect the chickens need more of their oyster shells:) And i have to say the bacon/chocolate bar is growing on me!

Thanks Kim, will keep posting but not sure how exciting anything is going to be:)

Deb, I think a lot of those rules can and should be broken:)

I wonder if you're suffering from 'real chocolate' deprivation! ;)

Having timeout is OK - it balances out the frenetic times.

Melody and Lauren, oddly, now that I have eaten the whole bar of bacon milk chocolate (oops), I kinda wish I had another one now ;) It grew on me I guess.......

Katherine, and you are right of course, a break is good for some balance. Thanks for the reminder.

Since I am taking time off to clean out my studio, I'm advising time off for everybody. Hope you figured those vegetables out.

I predict that this week will be a productive one for you. It seems, where I live anyway, that this week is the beginning of spring. I think winter's end is always a difficult time to be creative and productive.

I really wish I could have a bite of that chocolate. On a trip to new york a few years ago, I purchased a chocolate bar with curry. It took a few bites to become hooked, but jeez, I sweated that stuff out for days.
